The purpose of this study is to test whether a drug called PRA023/MK7240 (the study drug) is a good treatment for patients with Systemic Sclerosis associated with Interstitial Lung Disease (SSc-ILD). The study drug PRA023/7240 is an investigational drug that is given by infusion every 4 weeks. An investigational drug is not approved by The US Food and Drug Administration. It can only be used in a research study like this one. In this study, PRA023/MK7240 will be compared with a placebo (dummy drug). The placebo will be a saline solution that does not have any study drug in it. The comparison with the placebo helps to determine whether the effects seen in your body is because of the PRA023/MK7240 or not. This is a randomized study meaning that you will be assigned by chance (like flipping a coin) to receive either the study drug or placebo. This will be done with the help of a computer-based program and you will have 50% chance of receiving either the study drug or placebo. The study is double-blinded study and 50 weeks long, meaning you and your study doctor will not know what you are receiving, the study drug or placebo.
The study is sponsored by Prometheus Biosciences, Inc., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc. The study is being done at approximately 25 sites across the United States. The main portion of the study will require 15 visits to the MUSC main campus and will have the following procedures completed over the course of your participation: blood draw, physician-led assessments of your disease (for example physical exam and skin thickness testing), tests to assess your pulmonary function and health (Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT)), electrocardiogram, as well as asked to complete surveys. If you complete the initial blinded treatment period of 50 weeks, the study doctor will discuss whether you are eligible to enter the open label period of the study, meaning no placebo. If you are eligible and agree, you will receive 500 mg of study drug once every 4 weeks for an additional 52 weeks. Compensation is available for participation.

repository of data of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
patients with by Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD), a rare genetic
condition that can cause COPD and emphysema.
The overarching goal of the Master Protocol is to find effective strategies for inpatient management of patients with COVID-19. Therapeutic goals for patients hospitalized for COVID-19 include hastening recovery and preventing progression to critical illness, multiorgan failure, or death. Our objective is to determine whether modulating the host tissue response with agents targeting the RAAS improves clinical outcomes among patients with COVID-19.
Potential agents to investigate on this platform include TXA127 and TRV027. Both have potential beneficial effects on the RAAS system in COVID-19. We postulate that SARS-CoV-2 spike protein interaction with the ACE2 receptor leads to unchecked activity of AngII, and RAAS-targeting therapies will counterbalance pathologic RAAS effects. We will evaluate the efficacy of TXA127 and TRV027 in restoring RAAS balance.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety and how well the medication sotatercept works versus placebo in treating Heart Failure with a Preserved Ejection Fraction. The study will also look at information obtained from the tests performed as part of the study to see if subjects have improvement in symptoms of heart failure. Participation in this study will last approximately 26 months. During the study period subjects will be asked to attend regular study visits with the research coordinator. These visits will include such activities as blood tests, questionnaires, physical evaluation by a study doctor, a right heart catheterization with exercise, echocardiogram, and 6 minute hall walks. There will be 35 visits as part of participation in this clinical trial.
Participants will be randomized to either the treatment group (and receive the medication) or the control group (and not receive the medication). Subjects will have a 66:33 chance of receiving the study medication during their participation in the trial. The treatment assignment is determined by randomization, where a computer selects at random which treatment group you will be in (like drawing straws). Neither the subject, nor the blinded personnel will know which group subjects are in. Neither the subject nor the study doctor will decide what group subjects are assigned.
The purpose of this research is to find out if a drug called ganciclovir can prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation, in which the virus wakes up from an inactive state, in patients with respiratory failure associated with severe sepsis. In order for you to take part in this study, we verified that you also have previously had an infection with a virus called Cytomegalovirus (CMV). Ganciclovir is an FDA approved drug that has been widely used for the prevention and treatment of CMV in patients with weakened immune systems. A total of 482 patients will be enrolled in this study at sites throughout the US.
Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) cause a chronic pulmonary infection associated with cough, fatigue, and shortness of breath. We seek to develop and test a disease-specific patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) in well-characterized populations of patients with NTM pulmonary disease. Ultimately, a validated PROM for individuals with NTM pulmonary disease will fill a critical need for effective NTM treatments by improving clinical trial design and identifying a meaningful endpoint that can guide therapeutic development.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of namilumab in subjects with chronic pulmonary sarcoidosis (CPS). This study will include adult subjects who have been diagnosed with CPS for more than 6 months who are not well controlled by OCS and/or immunosuppressive therapy (IST). 100 total subjects are planned for this study. There will be a Double-blind treatment period of this study lasting approximately 26 weeks as well as an optional Open-Label Extension (OLE) Treatment Period which will extend the length of the study to approximately 64 weeks.
This study is for participants who have been diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism or PE. A PE is a blood clot in the lung. This study is comparing the FlowTriever Retrieval/Aspiration System to any commercially available Catheter Directed Thrombolysis system in participants who have a PE and undergo a procedure to remove the clot. Participants will be randomized which means they will be randomly assigned like the flip of a coin to have the procedure done wit the the FlowTriever system or a CDT system. All of the devices being used in this study are FDA approved for this indication. This study involves collecting data from the time of diagnosis through 30 days post procedure. Study participation will last about 30 days.
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, study comparing the efficacy and safety of intravenous (IV) efzofitimod 3 mg/kg and 5 mg/kg versus placebo after 48 weeks of treatment. This study will enroll adults with histologically confirmed pulmonary sarcoidosis receiving stable treatment with oral corticosteroid (OCS), with or without immunosuppressant therapy. The duration of patient participation is up to 56 weeks, including a Screening period (up to 4 weeks), a Treatment period (48 weeks), and a Follow-up period (4 weeks).
This study is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study evaluating the safety and tolerability of twice daily inhaled bacteriophages (BX004-A) for up to 10 days in 32 outpatient adult Cystic Fibrosis subjects with chronic PsA pulmonary infections who are currently receiving inhaled antibiotics. This study consists of a screening period and a treatment period, divided into 2 parts. In Part 1, subjects will receive the study drug over 7 days, in part 2 over 10 days. Subjects in both parts will be included in a 6-month safety follow-up. Final safety assessments will include phone calls 28 days and 6 months after the last dose of study medication. Questionnaires will be administered through 28 days after the last dose of study medication. A Data Monitoring Committee (DMC) will monitor safety during both parts of the study.
