Summary

We are disseminating a short 10-15 minute survey to pediatric Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) patients and/or their parents to complete via REDcap. HS is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects apocrine gland skin in the axillae, groin, and intertriginous areas of the body that can causes inflammatory abscesses, boil-like nodules, purulence, sinuses, scarring, potential disfigurement, and potential for a significant detrimental effect on patient quality of life. Pediatric HS patients often have more widespread disease and are more likely to have co-morbid metabolic abnormalities. The target population are patients involved with the HS Connect organization and other affiliated patient advocacy programs. We hope to be able to reach up to 1,000 patients in an effort to understand their disease. At the end of the survey, we will provide the option for them to consent to allow further contact for other studies that may be developed as a by-product from the compiled results of the survey.
